BLOOMINGDALE - A PLAYFUL PRESCHOOL EXPERIENCE WHERE YOUNG MINDS CAN EXPLORE

Choosing the right childcare for you and your child is a huge decision. At Bloomingdale, we promise you the highest standards of care, provided by experienced, dedicated care takers, with hi-tech facilities, in a homely environment.

Bloomingdale is a privately owned, independent nursery. It opened in 2009 and caters for boys and girls, 2 years of age. At present, there are approximately 175 children on roll in play school and about 2000 children in KG. We have a language area, discovery area, creative activity area and math area with a library, blocks and manipulative materials. Bloomingdale is set in pleasant grounds with a large field and an adventure play area.

We keep investing in our facilities, attract and retain the best care takers and offer them the structure and support they need to build rewarding careers in the work they love.

The central goal of Bloomingdale, in partnership with families, is to guide children as they build the foundation for a life of learning. Such a life requires them to be open-minded, creative thinkers who are intrinsically motivated and who will continue to question and seek knowledge as they grow and mature, from preschoolers to adults. Because the preschool years are a crucial time for social development, we feel it is essential for us to provide a climate that will help children become empathetic, self-assured and socially well-adjusted.

At Bloomingdale, we remain dedicated to our goal and constantly re-evaluate our services, to make sure we offer parents and children a standard of childcare that is second to none.

When you place your child in our care, you can be confident that they will be cared for by professionals, who operate to rigorous policies and procedures.

You can trust that your child will benefit from a structured learning environment and the opportunity to socialise from a very young age with their peers.

But most importantly, you can relax knowing that your child will get the kind of care, love and attention you would like for them whilst they are left in our care.

CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE

I am very glad to appreciate your decision for selecting our school for your child's education. I welcome you and your child to our institution

As the chairman of the educational trust I am very delighted to exchange my thoughts with you. I would like to do it personally which I had done in the past but due to time constraints I feel, penning this message will serve the purpose.

I hail from a very poor family from a backward district of Tamil nadu, Sivaganga. Educated from the local Tamil medium Govt. School, civil diploma from a polytechnic part B.E. from Engineering College, Worked in Govt. service for a short while, tried several business, headed a civil engineering company.

With this background it is always my belief, that I could create and head, as the chairman, an educational trust with over 40,000 pupils and 3000 teaching staff and non teaching staff,

Engineering colleges, a management institute, a prestigious international school, seven matriculation schools and a CBSE school.

Yet another year has passed and we have crossed some more milestones. At every step we had the support and motivation provided by the confident parents, dedicated teachers and committed students. Today, Velammal group of institutions is growing from strength to strength with ethical professional practices and is recognized as a reputed name in education. In all these years of experience, I learnt one very simple yet very significant lesson. The needs of the society are like an ocean and the service we render are mere drops. So I am now determined to add as many drops as I can and say to myself with contentment, I tried my best. Today, my vision is to set on raising the statue of 'Velammal to a University' by the year 2009, by establishing more schools, Engineering Colleges, Professional and Medical Institutions in the state and country. The task is arduous and the path is grueling but I have two things going for me, one my mother's words of motivation and other the society's unstinting support.

The question that always arises in my mind is, if I could succeed with the help of my dedicated staff, then why not my students?

My answer to this question is always YES. To achieve success my belief is

  1. Dream Big
  2. Think Differently
  3. Always Focus
  4. Work consistently
  5. Learn from the past failures
  6. Correct your mistakes

So our Trust in its journey plays a very vital part in making successful global champions. All that we expect from our Velammal parents is to do a continuous follow up of your child's progress in all their endeavors.

In the electronic fast paced age of competition children are achieving very high distinctions, but the greatest support they require from the parents is instilling of human values, Indian culture and heritage, the secret of hard work and achieving ethical success, thus creating a happy and successful life. This can be done only by the parents and the institution.

CEO MESSAGE

Greetings,

I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I love what I do. You've got to find what you love. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it.

When the gifted potentials of a child are identified and utilized, a good yield is harvested but when it is not done so it remains hidden within and becomes useless. Hence, let us all strive to unearth the latent talents which would enrich the child to meet the world's requisite.

Hope is the best scope to find a better light…

Yours in the service of education,
MVM Velmurugan,
Chief Executive Officer,
Velammal Educational Trust

ADVISOR MESSAGE

OUR GOALS

  • Support parents in their role as primary facilitators and share parenting information for the development of their children.
  • Prepare children for the kindergarten. Provide a variety of experiences to promote the holistic development of the children with a curriculum specially framed for this age group.
  • Value and implement play as a medium for all aspects of learning.
  • Support and appreciate that all the children are different and have unique learning skills.
  • Encourage children’s abilities to observe, perceive, explore, investigate, imagine and enquire about things.
  • Nurture self discipline in the children.

OUR OBJECTIVES

For a holistic and all round development of children the following developments are important.

Physical development

  1. Physical development is about the mastery of the child over a variety of bodily skills.
  2. Gross motor skills refer to whole body and limb movements, balance and whole body coordination.
  3. Fine motor skills refer to manipulative skills that need use of hands, fingers and coordination between eye and hand.

Sensory development

  1. Children learn about the world around them by using their five senses. While playing, they see, hear, touch, taste, smell and move.
  2. These sensory experiences form the basis for the development of concepts

Cognitive development

  1. Cognitive development is concerned with how children think, reason and form concepts.
  2. They get concrete sensory and motor experiences from which they form concepts. Both simulation and guidance are necessary.

Emotional development

  1. This refers to a child’s feeling towards objects, persons and situations.
  2. Children show a wide array of feelings: like positive and negative, such as fear, anger, jealousy, joy, pleasure, delight, love and curiosity.
  3. The growth of self-awareness is sense of identity as a person and creates self confidence in all the aspects of personal growth.

Language development

  1. Language allows children both to understand and express thoughts, to communicate needs, show feelings and ultimately to reason.
  2. Children learn language through an active process of listening, speaking and interacting with others.
  3. Performing arts like mime, movement, role play, song, dance, drama help to channelise, express and communicate feelings and experience the creation

Social development

  1. Social development refers to learning how to get along and cooperate with others and live together harmoniously in a group.
  2. The child gradually learns to behave according to the norms of his/her own group and develops healthy social attitudes and values and good habits and behaviour.

Personal development

  1. This aspect is about how children come to develop confidence in who they are and what they can do and in expressing their own ideas. Personal development makes them interact effectively and develop positive attitudes.
  2. Children look up to adults and educators for guidance and as role models for appropriate behaviour. Learning holistic self-improvement methods can help you and your child increase confidence, personal power and self-love.
